Split-drive reload process: |
|
| Our
custom reload consists of configuring your hard drive into 2 partitions
or SPLITTING the drive. The reason for doing this is in case your operating
system files become corrupt and the operating system needs to be reloaded
it can be done WITHOUT having to delete YOUR data files. |

| Now that you understand the process of reloading your computer with a split-drive we are going to look in the "Old Drive" folder and put your files back where they were before we loaded your machine. Remember, ALL of the files that were on your machine prior to the reload are in the "Old Drive" Folder including the old operating system, program files, and your data files. Any Programs you had loaded on your computer SHOULD BE REINSTALLED from the original CD and not just copied from the "Old Drive" folder. Copying program files DOES NOT put the necessary registry files back where they belong and your programs may not run properly and cause problems with other processes. | |
|
Before
you begin reinstalling your data files you must understand the file
structure of your computer. If you understand file structure
of a computer you can skip this section. |

Now that you understand file structure we will start putting your files from the folder "Old Drive" into your NEW My Documents folder. |
